01.17.2026 — Montmartre. The Birthplace of Modern Art

Book launch at the Musée de Montmartre (Paris)

On January 14, Montmartre. The Birthplace of Modern Art was launched at the Musée de Montmartre. The book explores Montmartre’s role as a cultural epicentre in the birth of modern art. It is authored by Phillip Dennis Cate (a friend and one of the leading authorities in this field) and Saskia Ooms, with collector David Weisman as the driving force behind the project.

My contribution to this publication was art direction and mise-en-page direction from Barcelona. I worked on the overall aesthetic approach and in direct dialogue with David Weisman to shape a book that is coherent, clear and distinctive, with close attention to pacing and the relationship between text and images.

The layout was produced by Lali Almonacid and Marta Llinàs, and we worked closely together to refine the page design and maintain strong visual consistency throughout the volume.

This project was also shaped by David’s generosity and his desire to involve different people and perspectives in the process. That spirit can be felt in the care given to the book and in the ambition of the final result.
