The exhibition hosted at the Palais Lumière in Évian begins with a graphic identity proposal designed to visually articulate the exhibition journey and shape the scenographic atmosphere throughout the space. This identity goes beyond the formal: it becomes a narrative tool that guides the visitor, creating a poetic and evocative mood in each area of the exhibition.
The scenographic structure unfolds in three overlapping layers that interact with one another. In the foreground, explanatory texts are displayed on dibond panels, with a colour palette that evolves subtly throughout the exhibition, marking the rhythm and progression of the narrative. In front of these, a translucent printed veil introduces a sense of lightness and depth, like a fine mist that softens and transforms the perception of the space. In the background, a printed image reinforces the symbolic dimension of each section, connecting the visual narrative with the specific content of the artworks.
This layered composition generates a play of superimpositions that subtly and rhythmically evokes the dialogue between Paris and Brussels: representative images of the Belgian capital intertwine with evocations of the French capital, alternating like visual breaths within a shared narrative body. This continuous interplay not only marks the entry to each space but also consolidates the scenographic atmosphere of the exhibition, suggesting the rich network of exchanges, influences, and tensions that linked the two cities during a time of intense artistic effervescence.
Through this visual and spatial device, the project constructs an immersive narrative that interweaves graphic identity, scenography, and storytelling, offering a coherent, enveloping experience full of nuance.
